“I was disappointed as, based on the description, I was hoping for a more scholarly anthropological/cultural analysis of folklore. I would suggest updating the description to make clear that this is primarily a storytelling programme. I don't want to be too harsh on the narrator based on Episode 1, as she seems passionate about her subject matter, but personally I found it difficult to take British folklore seriously when delivered in her curiously glottal-stopping North American accent. Also I admit I sniggered when she Spoonerised "tightly shut" (at about 14:00), resulting in some accidental mild profanity which was clearly missed in the edit. Good luck to Ms. Schmidt but I won't be listening again.”Read full review »
