Great conversation, PLEASE STOP CHEWING ON MIC
Much like on his Netflix series, Phil Rosenthal brings his genuine enthusiasm for good people, good conversation, and (of course) good food to this podcast. The interviews have a way of bringing out great comedy and depth from the guests (Michelle Yeoh and Paul Reiser stand out). While he's a bit of a name-dropper, David Wild brings a musical element to the show (the Jimmy Jam episode is stellar) so it isn't just comedians talking to other comedians. My one criticism is that every episode takes place during lunch and features PEOPLE EATING THEIR FOOD INTO THE MICROPHONE. Elaine May is a national treasure but I don't need to hear her eat a pastrami sandwich. This also means that the interviews get choppy as the guests chew, swallow, digest, and then respond to a question. Phil and David even joke about how unappetizing the sound is, but they keep doing it. Phil, I'm begging you: record this podcast after lunch.Read full review »

Love, love, love it. Listened to both first episodes in one sitting (pun intended). One of the few podcasts I’ll be waiting eagerly for each week.

Wow
It’s amazing how people open up to Phil just by giving them a sandwich. I am two shows in (Henry Winkler and Kevin Bacon) and I find it laugh out loud, honest, probing, entertaining, and insightful. I feel like I’m listening to Uncles of mine converse during a Shabbos lunch!
