Deceitful title; is just feminist deconstruction
A bare faced lie. Entitled “…stands up for classics” it would be good if the show were a genuine look at classics on their own terms. However this is, from start to finish, a relentless deconstruction thorough the lens of feminism. When will BBC commissioners (who are without exception graduates of “studies” degrees) finally realise that their viewpoint is held by a tiny minority, that they are missing the profound beauty of art which is there for anyone to see? TV licence fee payers are your customers, and so are the people at large. So why do you pander to the will of Twitter? Most of its traffic is bot generated and simply reinforces your existing viewpoints, which are so unrepresentative of the views of your customer that it’s laughable.

A podcast about the classics even for people who know nothing about the classics. This podcast takes me into other worlds.

This is just perfect. Natalie knows her stuff, is a brilliant storyteller and is hilarious in delivery. Best of all, she moves us between mythic and modern perspectives; she asks questions that direct us to new viewpoints and gives a voice to the underdogs. An educational delight!
