Have listened to every single episode, for the most, several times over, & will do so yet more times.

I love this podcast, I have listened to every episode and it got me through a gruelling Wi-Fi free holiday to France. I would never have survived without this pod. Highly recommend😍

My wife & I have been hooked on this podcast & listen every opportunity we have. We were concerned as we approached the last episode only to just see a new episode. Oh joy (or whatever a Greek or Roman would say)!

Natalie is bright, hilarious and doesn’t dumb it down whilst still making classics available to all. Natalie, we don’t know each other but you are welcome anytime at my house for a family dinner and chat on the sofa :D

I’ve just discovered you(through History Extra podcast), so I’ll have a few days’ worth of listening. But it seems this one has ended last April. I think you’re terrific. I’m about to buy your latest books. Thank you from an ex-classicist and retired professor of Italian studies. Edited to say,...Read full review »

Bingeworthy!

Funny, engaging, intelligent, but riddled with politics and an inability to read ancient literature without superimposing a modern, moralistic, worldview. Do better.

Natalie is clever, funny and interesting - I would recommend her to everyone!

This podcast is my favorite. It’s the one I rationed out episodes and didn’t let myself binge so I could make them last! Natalie and guests take a topic that is full of life but has been sold through most of our educational experiences as fusty, old, arcana and entirely revives it. Every episode...Read full review »

Thank you so much for this amazing podcast Natalie ! I listen to this as a Classics student and it is fantastic ❤️

A bare faced lie. Entitled “…stands up for classics” it would be good if the show were a genuine look at classics on their own terms. However this is, from start to finish, a relentless deconstruction thorough the lens of feminism. When will BBC commissioners (who are without exception graduates...Read full review »

Geeky, informative, funny - one of the podcasts I happily listen to again & again. I had minimal exposure to classics in my 90s suburban comp education, but Natalie makes it all accessible.

I almost never write reviews but I felt compelled to for Natalie because although I feel this pod is a bit niche, it is so great for those of us who love classics, the Greeks, and mythology generally. I have been interested in these topics since I was a child but still learn something new each...Read full review »

This is my favorite podcast. Natalie Haynes is witty, lively, and supremely clear in her presentation of Greek tales and different scholarly takes. I’ve learned and laughed a lot. Thank you!

This is just perfect. Natalie knows her stuff, is a brilliant storyteller and is hilarious in delivery. Best of all, she moves us between mythic and modern perspectives; she asks questions that direct us to new viewpoints and gives a voice to the underdogs. An educational delight!
FoggyNights via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 09/17/21
Natalie is engaging, interesting and, importantly, hilarious! She knows her own mind and opinions and doesn’t hesitate to let you know when she has a bias for or against a subject. However even then her love of Classics really shines through the whole time. Also this series introduced me to...Read full review »

I’d just bought the series on iTunes when the podcast came out. Mais je ne regrette rien. Natalie Haynes truly has a gift to make the ancient Greeks and Romans not only accessible but lovable. This podcast is funny and informative - an irresistible combination. Dankeschön!
