So much background noise - listeners beware.
I was excited to find this podcast since I have been no contact with my family of origin for over two years now. My mom is definitely a narcissist and my father has enabled her bad behavior for years. As many people in my same boat might agree, there is little support out there for adult children who decide to go no contact with their family of origin. So, like I mentioned, I was excited to find this podcast! It definitely has some great content. I found the one about not needing to forgive excellent! I was raised in a religious household and forgiving my parents after enduring their verbal, physical and psychological abuse over and over again was something I thought I needed to do. The negative thing about this podcast is the background noise. It’s very, very distracting. There are doors opening and closing, loud footsteps and goodness knows what else. As previous reviewers have written, it can be a huge trigger for those of us who were raised in households where our needs did not matter. I am debating about whether or not I should continue listening which is unfortunate since, like I said, there are few sources out there which offer support for people going no contact with their families.

The content is great but the distraction and long pauses make it frustrating and the sound of the mouth smacking and saliva smacking made me stop listening

That said, the material is so so helpful...Read full review »

I just finished (what I ultimately learned was) Tracy’s first ever episode on navigating no contact, after finding it on my podcast app. How could you be so spot on? Wow! I love that she touches on religion and counseling, too. She also provides a free Facebook support group.
