…but 10 mins in to my first episode I had to turn it off. She interrupts every 5 seconds with “mmhmm” and “yeah”. It’s incredibly distracting. It’s unfortunate because there’s probably some valuable content in there.

Too repetitive

I couldn’t get past 10 minutes if an episode, the amount of times the the podcast host said “right” “yea” “hmmm” made my skin crawl. She sounds like she is just trying to think of the next thing to say rather than listening to her guest and really making them feel heard by giving a genuine...Read full review »

This helped give me a lot of tools to work through my past and hopefully be a better parent to my son.

Agree with others- music is distracting. She takes excessively long pauses, speaks very slow, and sounds like she’s reading from a book or notes. Perhaps the content gets better father in, but I couldn’t make it past the first 7 minutes and even that was difficult.

Anyone that has Misophonia, this is NOT for you. She makes horrible smacking sounds and doesn’t even edit them out. I was so excited to get started on this journey but I lasted about 1 minute and my skin was CRAWLING. I couldn’t do it. She may have the best healing podcast, but I will never know :(

Thanks for the help you have given me. Your podcast would be phenomenal with a little more polish.

First, thank you Tracy! This is why I’ve needed for a long time. The suggestion is, I don’t know but I prefer with NO music, I feel it’s distracting, I mean, It's not noisy, but I kind of connect more when I hear just your voice. XxRead full review »

The podcast focus and theme and interviewees are great. However, due to poor production values and unskilled interview technique, it’s almost unlistenable. Doors slamming in the background and the host talks over everything: saying yes, wow, uh-huh, hmmm, I know etc so when it’s recorded on zoom...Read full review »

I really needed to hear this content, I’m struggling and I can’t wait to listen to episodes bc the titles seem apt, but I’m on the first episode and find the music running underneath the speaking for the whole 40 minute episode distracting from the message.

I have begun healing and identified my childhood trauma because of this podcast. I have never felt more seen. I would love more regular podcasts from Tracy & if she upgraded her recording studio. I find the audio quality low and the background music very distracting. Otherwise, this podcast...Read full review »

The content that Tracy offers is incredibly helpful and much needed. However, as others have expressed, between the background noises, the utterances of “umm”, “mmkay” and “…right?”, the never-ending music on a loop - it’s really difficult to listen to and really HEAR the information she’s trying...Read full review »

Tracy’s podcasts have helped me so much in dealing with toxic family and recognising the patterns that are so common in dysfunctional families

I just joined her FB support group and she engages with her followers as much as she can, her advice is short and sweet and sometimes all you need to hear to feel peace.

Thank you so much. I finally feel like it is ok to have no contact with my verbally and emotionally abuse mother. I finally heard it and believe you when you said to stop hoping for the fantasy. For the love of god, turn the looping background music off. It is not just distracting, it is truly maddening! I tried listening to the scapegoat episode and kept waiting for the annoying looping music to stop but eventually had to turn it off. Hits hard on toxic families and feels sympathetic at the same time. Background noise is annoying at times but the message is heartfelt and supportive

Very thankful to Tracy. I’m relieved to learn I’m not the only one going through this. I also like the way she talks with her dog in the background. Makes me feel like I’m sitting in my friend’s living room instead of a lecture hall.

I love the content but the constant music is distracting. Also, not sure if it’s just the episode I listened to but the background noise is disorienting - sounds like you’re recording in the back of a restaurant?

Sometimes it feels like the host is super distracted and loses her train of thought. Sometimes her UMs and ERs and throatclearing and swallowing sounds are distracting to the listener (mute button FTW!). I also wish the music would fade out after a while. I don’t agree to no contact idea, but I really appreciate your expertise and help. This was very difficult to listen to because it’s very repetitive, the music doesn’t help either. I tried to find solace in the social media page and the members are not too supportive either. Rules are very hypocritical and judgmental for one to call an actual “support group”. The good thing...Read full review »

I just finished (what I ultimately learned was) Tracy’s first ever episode on navigating no contact, after finding it on my podcast app. How could you be so spot on? Wow! I love that she touches on religion and counseling, too. She also provides a free Facebook support group.

I was excited to find this podcast since I have been no contact with my family of origin for over two years now. I’m so grateful to have someone or something to listen to dealing with finally cutting off toxic parents. Without health insurance and newly hired after the pandemic, therapy and counseling was simply out of the question for now. I’m so grateful for this. Please keep going.

The content is great but the distraction and long pauses make it frustrating and the sound of the mouth smacking and saliva smacking made me stop listening

Honestly, within 3 minutes it all made sense. I’ve looked and longed for someone to professionally analyse a broken relationship and help me navigate this. It’s so hard to find any self help for when a parent goes no contact or you decide to go no contact. Thank you for speaking to my heart.
