An exceptional and enormously entertaining and accessible podcast
This is an exceptional and enormously accessible podcast from the Royal Astronomical Society presented by science journalist Izzy Clarke and professional astrophysicist Dr Becky Smethurst. They are joined by the Deputy Executive Director of the Royal Astronomical Society, Robert Massey, and a host of science experts to answer all kinds of questions concerned with astrophysics and space exploration. Each episode discusses a main topic and concludes with advice about what to see in the night sky in the coming weeks. It is informative, entertaining, and great fun (with a good deal of laughter) from speakers who really know their stuff and are great communicators, able to explain complex ideas in simple terms but without dumbing the physics down too much. Their passion and excitement about all things is infectious, as is their flicking between science and Sci Fi and a certain amount of nerdiness (especially from Dr Becky). There’s great chemistry between the three presenters who constantly make an effort to include listeners’ interests and questions (Izzy Clarke often putting herself in the position of the interested non expert). Like the expanding universe, it is ever broader in scope as the episodes progress. This is one of my top science podcasts of all time. Many thanks to all those involved. This is a must hear.
