“I enjoyed the stories and they’re well narrated. After a while, two things gnawed at my enjoyment to the point I could listen no longer. Firstly, whoever does the writing is far too hung up on kitch and cringy phrases themed around the place of the episode, like ‘something smelt bad, but it wasn’t a fish sandwich’ or ‘more shaken that a mango milkshake’ for a story set in a fast food restaurant. And the guy who does the editing must get paid by the sound effect. Way OTT. I counted, and the max time between SFX is 24 seconds. Often it’s 3-4. Too much for me. Might return if they back off on both of these, but for the meantime it’s just too annoying.”
