At last!
I've been waiting years for Guitar Player – once the greatest guitar publication on the planet – to come up with a podcast to do justice to the magazine's heritage. So far, it looks like Jude Gold has succeeded. The length of the interviews and the simple, no-frills format, with two guitar players sitting with their axes, chatting about guitars and playing the odd tasty lick, riff or well-loved solo, is perfect. The first three guests haven't been the kind of guys I'd seek out right away, but they have plenty of good stuff to play and talk about, and they've kept me gripped while I walk my dog. If you could just broaden out the subjects a bit, in line with Guitar Player traditions, and maybe try to get a wider range of people on board – how about John Jorgenson, Richard Thompson, Leo Kottke, Nels Kline, John Scofield...? Whatever, keep it up, GP, and thanks, Jude, for getting it so right so quickly.Read full review »

Jude is brilliant and his guests are so talented. So much to learn. Everything about it is great. Lost a star because something about this podcast crashes my phone. Every time I listen to it my phone shuts down. Doesn't happen with any other podcast. super weird little glitch.Read full review »

Jude Gold is a talented musician and insightful interviewer, and his guests are top notch. Lots of music history, tips on technique and equipment, and some really enjoyable jams too! Plus they post plenty of supplementary material and video on Facebook.
