A must listen
I came across this podcast when the host was interviewed on another podcast. Having previously watched the Take Care of Maya documentary, and something not sitting quite right with me, I took a deep dive into this podcast. I feel so much sadness and empathy for the Kowalski family, but the documentary truly only tells one side of the story. There are of course problems with CPS (which the host addresses in an interview with a former case worker) AND our healthcare system, but after listening to this podcast it seems very clear to me that the hospital was acting in good faith and the producers of this documentary and reporters who covered this case were not. Of course EVERYONE has their bias (myself included), but we need to hear both sides. There are always three versions of every story- side A, side B, and the truth. Sadly we may never know the full truth. Thank you so much for doing this work!

This podcast takes on such a challenging and complex topic with great professionalism, respect, and care. The intimate look at the lives of those impacted is truly fascinating. Anyone who marvels at human psychology or loves true crime stories, should check this out! You will not be disappointed!

Highly recommend. My curiosity is if this condition is wrapped up with narcissistic personality disorders. Hopefully there is a second season that looks into that twinning.

I’m so excited that this is finally out. Andrea is a fantastic narrator. Definitely holds my attention.
