“Not even water?” Fasting, like the other 4 Pillars of Islam, is external- you can see someone performing the basic rituals of fasting. Thus, oftentimes we’re only asked about this external aspect of fasting- abstaining from food and drink from sunrise to sunset. Fasting is much more than that, though, and in this episode, we dive into this- the importance of fasting for the soul and how we can be intentional about this fast.
