“I've long held a fascination with the DPRK, and a complicated but sincere sympathy for its people. I discovered NK News early this year while searching for better news sources than those pervasive (and redundant) "inside look" pieces, and though most of NKN's content is understandably gated behind a subscription service, I was excited to find that they had started recording a free podcast!
The topics of each episode are disparate and well-selected, offering an extremely wide range of perspectives on North Korean political, economic, social, and cultural systems/phenomena. Our host Jacco is both professional in tone and impartial in his lines of inquiry, and when appropriate he injects a measure of respectful humour and friendly banter which benefits the show greatly.
