As a lover of books, I enjoy listening to this and appreciate Derek's insight and perspective (although I sometimes find his views problematic). I like Rai but she comes across as immature/childish with not well thought-out views (time and experience will likely change this). Alex sounds...Read full review »

I've always loved reading all types of literature but for some reason it took a backseat. Listening to the podcast has really brought back that love of literature, the discourse between the three of you is so intellectually intriguing. I have been exposed to perspectives that I would have...Read full review »

Books were such a dead source of entertainment for me. At 23/24 this podcast has got me enjoying reading for the first time. Good podcast chemistry between the 3 and very entertaining. Learning lots, being entertained and loving it!

I'm binge listening to this show at work and it has got me back into reading after graduating. I have finally pulled all those books out from under my bed. A few pages into Americana and I have no regrets. Thank you.Read full review »

As a black American, this podcast connects to me in so many ways and challenges me in others. Every episode has me thinking differently about a book, movie, or idea, and it is chock-full of books to put on my reading list. I do wish the episodes were a little shorter, but the high quality content...Read full review »

I love listening to Rai, Alex and Derek talk about "classical" literature and modern lit too. They discuss topics that are entertaining and thought provoking. The best part is listening to Rai get Derek in check consistently! Hilarious.Read full review »

I love you guys, mostly Alex and Rai but I'm getting used to Derek now too. I love when you stick to literature and other related stuff, sometimes you tend to really go off the subject and it's really not 'mostly lit'. But great nonetheless and as an avid podcast listener, I love...Read full review »

My discovery of MostlyLit has been both thought provoking and informative, but mostly a barrel of laughs and spitting out my tea. The hosts are a pleasure to listen to over breakfast or with friends. I wish them all an abundance of future success.

This is a good podcast and Alex and Rai are excellent! Derek just seems to trot out the old rehearsed arguments and positions of the coloniser/ white men. It has become quite boring now as these discourses exist in most other podcasts and are nothing new, in fact they are pretty offensive and...Read full review »

I like their discussions where they disagree but both provide very inspiring and convincing arguments. Cannot believe this podcast has not got popular yet, maybe because of the sound quality of the earlier episodes? But it is so much better now!

Intelligent discussion on a wide range of topics, not only literature, from two young black Londoners. We need more perspectives like theirs. Also Rai needs to be doing her homework to improve from that C-.
