On this episode we have Marquisele (Mikey) Mercedes, the author of “The Unbearable Whiteness and Fatphobia of “Anti-Diet Dietitians”. Mikey who is broadly interested in how racism, anti-Blackness, and fat phobia shape health care, research and public health, found that Anti-Diet Dietitians (ADD) on social media included a lot of dietitians who “sit in their photos and show their stomach folds” or feign eating desserts and pizza”. She is "mad at the ADD who say that you can still love your body and want it to be smaller”. Mikey is here today to give us more insight on why she is so passionate about this topic, why she wrote the article, and why she believes the “[invasion] of the body liberation space” is another form of being “violent” against the oppressed.
