This show is full of generous peace and love in a traumatic world. I’m not at all current with music so truly appreciate being introduced to so many deeply talented artists. Many thanks to Hanif.

Well a little early for that here in Chicago and yet you sound fresh and what my soul needed this AM. Merci

Hanif’s podcast gives us new angles and thoughts on music, culture, and life. It’s picked me upon at the end of a long teaching day during a pandemic and has pushed me to listen and love anew.

Wowowow. So happy this exists! Thrilled to be able to listen to the voice behind such beautiful writing, and hear from so many favorite and new artists. Thoughtful, inclusive, and Incredibly necessary if you are a creator, a listener, a learner, a teacher.

Love Hanif’s thoughtful reflections, engaged interviews and the songs spliced in. Perfect length for a breakfast or lunch break and a wonderful sense of discovery in each ep.

I almost envy those who are new to Hanif Abdurraquib’s essays, because this podcast’s combination of insights and interviews is just spectacular. His essays, poems, playlists, and discoveries are deep and thoughtful, playful and cathartic. Listen and then go read everything he’s ever written.

Fascinating new perspectives of familiar and unfamiliar music. Hanif is a smart, curious host and the guests are extraordinarily interesting. I love the playlist feature — after a fantastic discussion of Afrofuturist music, I can listen to a curated collection that goes on for hours! Brilliant!

Really digging this podcast. Hanif has such a great storytelling style (and voice). Love the guests, the new music I’m discovering and all the recommendations I get to make to friends (and pass off as my own ;-)

Object of Sound is perfect for walking and *really* listening to. Hanif brings a different perspective to every topic and interview. Even if I don’t know all the musicians referenced, I enjoy the way the music is discussed and shared. For a music podcast, this show has a lot of emotion and beauty.

Well done, poetic and insightful. I’m learning about new music and thinking differently about the art and people behind the scenes.

Brought back up some wonderful things I was familiar with and others that I didn’t yet know about. Moses Sumney is new to me recently, and I was so excited to hear him as part of this.
