Love the Reading!
Have always been a Jane Eyre girl and no time for Wuthering Heights. I found myself getting moved very much at Michael’s reading of this bizarre story and am grateful, it’s worth knowing. Amazing how some literature can speak to emotions and experiences across all boundaries. And then this guy makes me laugh and that’s awesome too. Best podcast idea ever.

More reviews of Obscure with Michael Ian Black
It is Michael Ian Black so I assume it will be good when the first episode appears. Good day. Good Michael. Good Ian. Good Black.

Full confession, I have read “Jude the Obscure” and while it’s not my favorite Hardy novel (yes, total dork, I have a favorite Hardy novel...”Return of the Native”), I did enjoy it. But it’s been years, so listening in and getting the commentary is a riot! Cannot wait until the next episode!

It’s the podcast I needed 35 years ago. Make that 36 years ago so all the chapters would have been available by the time Jude The Obscure was assigned reading the next year. Today, I “read” Chapter One. Thanks to M.I.B.’s asides, I think I even understood it.
