Do the presenters like the show?
Sometimes amusing but I’m not sure how much the presenters actually ‘obsess’ over the show. Almost every scene they recap is subjected to a sideways glance and desperately wrung for laughs whether there’s humour to be mined or not, and much of the analysis and discussion seems to originate from a quick bit of Twitter research. This week’s episode included a painful 2 minutes of conversation between presenters who couldn’t remember/hasn’t noticed whether Hastings was being billed for or being handed £100k. (There’s not much difference.) A previous episode had one presenter confused over whether whether Maneet was the character’s first name or surname. It’s bizarre to me that this is a BBC podcast. If the title of the show is “Obsessed with...” it should be a minimum requirement to hire presenters who actually watch the show rather than reading other people’s theories about it.

I’m familiar with the work of both hosts so that might help but I’d also say this is for a younger non-trad...Read full review »
