They are far from “obsessed with line of duty”
I have been a fan of Line of Duty for quite some time now, and sadly the presenters in this podcast feel they have been picked by the BBC team to make it more to make it comedic rather than entertaining and thorough. It is also blatantly obvious that while they are often good at giving a light hearted view, they do not resonate with the fans of the show who are invested in the characters. Most people listening want to hear people who care about the show - and I’m pretty sure in their season 1-4 review they even admit they didn’t watch the show or care for it basically until the inception of this podcast - it means they lack depth or grounded accuracy in their conversation, and the jokes are less funny because they fail to use context from the show and rather focus on cheap gags and bits which are sub par humour at best. I wish to god Lauren would join Brett and Lolly earlier in the show because until she gets there , they analyse the episode in quite honestly the worst format since Big brother was invented. They jump around the plot in non chronological order and barely touch on legitimate theories in favour of making childish and borderline ridiculous jokes that often aren’t even really funny or relevant to the episode. I don’t dislike any of the presenters but I often feel lost when listening and they can lose your attention quite easily due to not following more of a structure and letting each other go off on wild tangents. Lauren provides a more detailed view , and thankfully makes it for me at least listenable , (thank you) I just wish the other two would tone down their comedy a bit and really talk with her about the show properly whilst using smart humour where it fits. Sometimes it feels like they haven’t actually watched the episode or listened to any theories - with lolly openly bashing fan theories saying she’s never read one which has been accurate. The show could be far more interactive and incite fans to engage , but they seem to rely more on the BBC pushing the podcast on the credits of the show , and social media , as well as their ability to have guests from the show - over their content. I prefer “shrine of duty” much better engagement with listeners like podcasts should have , and they really feel like they understand the show more. If you want to listen to people truly “obsessed with line of duty” go listen to their podcast instead. Plus their Irish accents are gorgeous! And makes us think of Ted.

Weak content, annoying presenters with incessant laughing. A good opportunity missed

Enjoying this podcast so much, just as addictive as the show. The beautiful Lolly and handsome Brett are incredibly charming. Unless you have been floating up the Lagan in a bubble, how could they not be your LoD go to?

I came to listen to this because of Brett and stayed because of Brett and Lolly and Lauren. BRILLIANT and good fun show. Keep on keeping on 🙌
