“Hey guys. I’m new to the industry and really enjoy the show—great way to stay/get up to speed on all things oil and gas. Keep up the great work!
Two critiques:
1. It seems as if every time there is a discussion of policy proposals or initiatives (here or abroad) that aim to address the environmental impact of the oil and gas industry it is referred to as being “political.” While surely some who propose such policies have political motives, the same could also be said for those arguing from the opposite side of the issue. Whether you agree with environmental friendly policies or not, there are those (even in the industry) who believe that the economic benefits of the oil and gas industry should be balanced with preserving clean water, air, etc. You have spoken on occasion about the positive steps the industry has taken to protect the environment—and those steps are commendable—but that is a more recent phenomenon relative to the industry’s history. By dismissing any environmentally friendly initiative as purely political contributes to an all or nothing perspective that eliminates any discussion of balancing environmental and economic policy.
2. Pronouncing Biden (By-den) as Bidd-in. 8 years as the Vice President and the last year as a Presidential candidate and you don’t know how to pronounce his name? Really?!
Thanks again for the great work!!”
