For, we first give importance to our family and then to the extended family and only after that comes the society. Om Swami says that if one has to set an example in the society, then they have to place the welfare of the society before anything or anyone, just like shri Ram did. Shri Ram put society before his own family and did the best for that yuga. Shri Krishna did the best for his yuga and in today’s age people have to act sometimes like Ram and sometimes like Krishna, depending on the situations. A saint will always put society before family, but for a normal person his or her family will come first at all times. An understanding of one’s wants and desires gives one a proper direction in life. What does one want? God or riches? Once this is clear, a person’s actions will flow according to it.
