Markets are set to end the year on a high note. The S&P 500 in the US has rallied 22.9% this year and is within 2% of its record high from January 2022, while the local NZX 50 has increased for seven consecutive weeks, its longest winning streak since 2019. Interest rates fell sharply last week, buoyed by signs central banks are done and could be cutting interest rates within six months.
