Story style wins
This podcast, unlike some other true crime stories, has a very appealing format. It is obvious that the speaker has done a lot of research and reflection on the subject, and prepares the story script in a way that is accurate, thorough, and wraps up with reflective thoughts and questions. There is a beginning, middle, and end. She does not influence the facts with opinions, and holds off on her own input until the right time. At the end of the episode, I feel satisfied that I learned about something new and had closure on the traumatic subject -- some other pod casts tell you terrifying events and then leave it open ended or with a cliff hanger, or leave you with bad lingering thoughts and feelings. With this podcast, you can be sure you will get the entire experience in a structured and easy to listen to format in one episode. You will also get some answers as to why. The speaker has a professional background in psychology and social sciences and is qualified to share these relevant conclusions. Her voice and tone are very calming. She pronounciates very well, and the audio is clear and even. I like to listen when I'm doing a quiet task and can give the episode my mental attention, such as while driving or doing routine work. I have read quite a few of the books she covered, and I can attest that she was accurate, and reading them before hand myself did not spoil the episode. It in fact helped me work out some ideas. I really enjoy this podcast and it's format. I will continue listening to every episode as they are published.Read full review »

I listened to the Kitty Genovese episode of OUAC, and I loved it. The host is 100% informed about the topics involved, and I come away with a much better understanding of the crimes than before. I'm going to put it on my true crime rotation from here on out.Read full review »
