Gross
I’ve only listened to the three available episodes so I can’t speak to the host’s ultimate conclusions (if any) about the “mystery” she claims is inherent in the story of Traci Lords and the adult industry. What I can say is that Traci was a 15 year old child when she entered the industry. The fact that the host discusses her choices as though she were an adult— as capable of making smart choices as men several decades her senior— is ridiculous, as is suggesting that Traci might be equally or even more to blame for the problems her underage status caused than the adults who hired her. Further, the host’s tone, which is jokey and twee, belies the seriousness of the topic. I totally agree with the reviewer who was disgusted by the stepfather filling a hole joke. How was this ever green lighted?

When did victim blaming become a thing or is just okay in cases where the victim’s abuse led her into porn? Whatever the case, the face that this is being done at all is a shame, but the fact that the blaming is being done by a woman and she is all too happy to allow a man to pipe right in, is a...Read full review »
