Words of Caution
I want to start with saying that the episodes released up to the date of this review have been very educational and well edited, in my opinion. These should be a good listen for anyone who enjoys investigative podcasts. My warning is this - I know that the 19 year old version of myself would have immediately searched the internet for, purchased, and ingested the weight loss drug investigated in this show after listening to the first episode. The current 29 year old version of me is sorely tempted to do the same, despite hearing the sobs of the broken hearted family members and the descriptions of a painful death. For many people who hate their body and have struggled with their weight for years, death is a perfectly acceptable risk to take for any promising chance at weight loss. If you have ever had disordered eating, mental illness, or body image issues, I STRONGLY suggest that you consider your own strengths and weaknesses before listening to this show. I’m sitting here wondering if the one click that subscribed me to this podcast will end up changing my own life.

I would love to hear more of this type of journalism. I hope there is some sort of a season 2.

Great podcast! Informative, interesting, and amusing. I like how they dug deep into structural issues and managed to keep the listener on their toes. A good slow burn and very well done:)

Very well done and well researched. As someone who has been studying public health for the better part of 5 years now, this is really impressive and exactly the kind of show I want to listen to. And very informative for those who don’t know about it and/or aren’t in the public health field.
