I used to love listening to this show on the radio. Sounds like driving home in the evening from visiting my mom. Alan Cross has the best voice and the smoothest delivery. I could listen to this show every day.

I really enjoyed this podcast even though I am not a hard core music fan. It presents the information in an interesting way that is easy to understand.

I just discovered this podcast and I’m really enjoying it. I’ve already learned a lot about The Beastie Boys and John Frusciante. I can’t wait to listen to even more episodes.

I loved listening to history of new music on the radio and still do. Having this as a podcast allows me to listen some of my favourites all over again. Alan is always insightful, thorough well spoken.

Great content but the amount and length of the ads makes it very annoying to listen to

I've listened to Alan Cross and TOHONM for 30 years. Before the internet and podcasts I'd be parked in my car in the driveway because I couldn't tear away from a minute of the show. This is by far the best music radio show and now the best music podcast. Always impeccably researched...Read full review »

While I still enjoy the Monday night syndicated shows, listening to so many previous episode and the ability to re-listen has made my life more enjoyable thanks to Alan Cross’ radio series “The Ongoing History of New Music”. Thank you for making this podcast available.

The more I know about the history of modern music, the more I enjoy it, for the most part! This podcast is a fantastic example of what the podcast industry should strive to be. Well produced, researched and written episodes are the standard here. Thanks for all you do, keep it up Mr. Cross and team!

Discovered this pod cast and I am officially hooked! Its so informative and super nostalgic to learn about the history of all the alternative bands I have grown up loving in the 90’s and beyond! Hooked on this podcast! Very informational and no filler! By the way, on the Nirvana episode, Niles is outside Youngstown not Columbus!

I’m normally a fan of this show. However, how can you do an episode on the history of alt-rock protest songs, cover British and Canadian punk and not even mention Dead Kennedys? Their entire existence is a protest song.

I’ve been listening to Alan on the radio for years and years and always feel engaged by not only the well researched and excellent content, but his voice is like a friend in my head. I’ve been a loyal fan for at least 15 years. The “bonus” episodes are just reruns that are already on iTunes. And podcasts. If you want to bring episodes up from the archives can you please resurrect episodes that have not been listened to on this exact podcast service already. The last hours...Read full review »

This show is great and he covers so much - only reason it's not a five-star ratin is because on the occasions he dips into political analysis, it needs a lot of work.Read full review »

I love this podcast, I’ve been listening to Allan since high school (I’m 41 now). I’m not sure what I’m paying for, I’ve seen no reason to pay maybe I’m wrong but I don’t see the difference in the podcast between paying and not paying
