Raises the bar so high for history podcasts
Discovered It March 2020 and since then, it has become one my reference podcast, not only for the ottomans, but the histories of other countries that were part of the empire. Academically rigorous, Macro and micro history presented through multitude of brilliant scholarly voices. Wish history was taught in this manner when we were at school, instead of dates and big events, I probably would have considered history of the eastern Mediterranean as a major.

What a great podcast—so informative. Please have more guests like Mary Roberts. That was an amazing and articulate account of 19th century Istanbul. Will be a regular listener from now on!
