Not For the Usual Podcast Customer

“Undoubtedly, Turkey is going to be a major power in the world. It is going to be a superpower in Eurasia. We all need to know more about it. Unfortunately, this podcast is not helpful for the usual podcast customer.
I downloaded the entire series to date. Like most of us, I did not know much about Turkey and its history. I did know that until about 1900, the Ottomans were a power in the world, but after WWI, their status, power, and influence sunk rapidly.
I had hoped that this podcast would provide a narrative similar to an introductory college class on the Ottoman Empire and Turkey from its beginnings until today. That is not what my sample (3 installments) has indicated.
What has been presented in these samples has been 3 interviews of guys with heavy accents responding to questions posed by the host. To make matters more confusing to someone who only has a smothering of understanding of the subject is that the guys who are being interviewed are not arranged in any order that is apparent.
This podcast could be much improved for what seems to be the usual podcast audience if the narrator either lectured in an organized fashion in some organized time-line on the Ottomans. See the Russian Rulers podcast or The History of Rome podcast. Alternatively, it might be useful to slice the history of the Ottomans along lines that are connected, but follow times lines only with respect to the slices they discuss (see the History on the Run podcast).
Maybe this is intended to be a podcast that is more esoteric than what the casual podcast guy (or gal) needs, but even then, it would be useful to have guests who have more usual accents. If asking for clear speech to American audiences is bigoted, please forgive me, but heavy accents discussing stuff that we have never heard of is not conducive to learning.
Again, this offers much promise, but the execution is decidedly sub-optimal. At least that;s my $0.02 worth.
