Fabulously decadent place to travel vicariously to! Just wish I was in a real restaurant with Jay Rayner, some oysters and cold buttery white wine chatting all things culture. Really inspiring. Could fine out on this all year x

My favourite part is hearing Ade gently persuading the trials and tribulations from his guest. A podcast that involves the listener by sharing with us what on the menu and who our waitress is today. Lovely interviews in a relaxed atmosphere. Ade is the best interviewer and most knowledgeable...Read full review »

I really love the format, interviews and food but Ade really does need to let his guests get a word in sometimes! Please!! Let them speak!!

Any chance of interviewing people outside the narrow so-called ‘liberal’ bubble ?

I started listening for particular guests, but now I’m into it generally. Terrific, warm conversations and loads of fascinating and funny stories come out. I guess Ade just puts folks at their ease. I love hearing his stories too, but he doesn’t dominate the conversation the way I’ve heard...Read full review »

I haven’t listened to an episode since Jay Raynor left this podcast . I really admire Ade Edmonsom but these new podcasts leave me baffled . I haven’t recognized a single name which is why I haven’t bothered to listen . It’s like you slammed the door on all the old listeners . The podcast should...Read full review »

Absolutely love these conversations and hearing the food choices. Ade is just great and so personable - like listening to old friends. Loved every one of these - takes me away from my dreary train commute to a London restaurant 🩷

Really fab podcast with great guests and recommendations for restaurants. Ade is a great host and it’s always a fun listen.

Listening to Ms. Black’s fluid, melodious and confident voice espousing the cause of black and bi-racial women, and recalling the monstrosity of 60s and 70s politics / racism was a tonic. Can the study of this women be added to the national curriculum, please? Wonderful interview, Ade.

Time for another host I think. Ade is dire.

Listened to the legend that is Tony Visconti, it was excellent. For a man who has done so much he sounds so normal and I mean that in a good way. Anna Maxwell Martin, also excellent and that led me to watch the drama A Spy Among Friends on ITV , brilliant . Thank you

I’m so glad ‘Out to Lunch’ pod continued with Ade! A delight to listen to. Keep’m coming!

First up love Ades work but, Jay Rayner nailed this format, a journalist and restaurant critic, knows food and gives a good account of where lunch is being taken and then knows how to interview people, engaging and interesting. Ade (as far as I know) is not big in the food world, there is...Read full review »

It is a great podcast and what a great conversation Ade holds with his guests. Top class 5 star.

I’ve bailed after 2.5 episodes of Ade. Such a shame as Jay Rayner was superb. Ade doesn’t manage to hide the fact that he isn’t really listening and is more thinking about what he wants to ask or say next. I may dip in again in a few weeks to see if it’s improved any.

What a talent Ade is. From the villain in Back to Life, to the charming presenter of this show. I love all his guests and the most recent interview with Tony Visconti was brilliant, two guys I admire having a chat over great food, isn’t that what life’s about. I got very emotional too when they...Read full review »

Still a great idea and format for a podcast and guess Ade will need some time to adapt to the format. Good interview style, pace and tone. In my opinion though it needs more of a focus on the food/setting. Less on himself, his past life experiences etc and there seems to much of a focus on ‘what...Read full review »

This is the first time, I have ever listen to this podcast. Ade, is extremely kind and very entertaining, such a pleasure to hear something so nice and clean and gentle. I had my trepidation’s when I heard Jay Rayner was stepping down because he was always a convivial host and it’s one of my favourite podcasts. I really enjoyed Jay Rayner in the role of interviewer and wondered how a change would work but Ade Edmondson brings a lovely feel to the programme. He is thoughtful and gives the guest time to talk. Looking forward to more of these

I love Ade Edmondson but he really is a poor interviewer, which was something that Jay Rayner excelled in. Half this Chrissie Hynde episode has been about himself and the other half has just been him interjecting with ‘Yeah, really?’. I enjoyed Jay Rayner's stint on Out To Lunch and have always liked Ade Edmondson's work, but this felt odd. Edmondson and Chrissie Hynde clearly know each other well, yet he addresses her as 'Christie' twice during this short edited recording, and there's a general air of...Read full review »

Talking over a shared meal is a real way to properly get to know someone. It get unscripted insightful replies that only ever happen at meal times. … and the bonus would be if the restaurant staff were ‘miked-up’. I understand and love that the interview is the main theme but it’s frustrating for me not to be able to catch what’s said.
