Just love these Jay. Only seen you as a critic on master chef. Now get to understand you more and great respect for your research and interviewing style.

Love the interviews in this relaxed setting - and am working my way through the restaurants recommended - it’ll take a while but at least I don’t have to search. Great insightful guests !

This podcast is like eavesdropping on the more interesting conversation on the table next to you in a restaurant. Do not listen to this when you are hungry, listening to Jay talk about the food is nothing short of torture. I love it.

With Grace Dent launching her own version of the same format recently, they’ve already had the same two guests on each other’s podcast in a short space of time (Rafe Spall and the Nish Kumar). Hopefully this doesn’t continue.

Discovered it only last week and am Binge- listening my way through. One request though: can you take Kermode and Mayo out to lunch please?

I’ve loved these series and have certainly come to admire Jay’s abilities to allow his guests the room to develop their life stories whilst they tuck in to fabulous food. Thoroughly enjoyable. Cheers!!

I discovered Jay via the London episode of Parts Unknown, where he sat with Anthony Bourdain at St John restaurant chatting over roasted bone marrow. I was intrigued to know more about him, so I looked him up and discovered that he's everywhere. Aside from being a noted food critic, he's...Read full review »

I love Jay’s Out to Lunch podcasts. His engaging style and insightful questions make for a very enjoyable 50 mins or so. Having discovered them and gone through them in order from season 1, I am very aware of how much sponsorship advertising is included now. This is a great indicator of how...Read full review »

I enjoy the podcast talking to interesting folks from our culture, but Jay Rayner is the Marmite of podcast hosts - you either love Jay or you hate him. He is clearly an engaging conversationalist with his guests, but his ego, does sometimes get in the way of his guest, which I find off putting....Read full review »

Jay is great company at the table even though he’s not with me, might even get a slot on my fantasy dinner party. Conversation is easy going and fun with his guests. I’ve been digging through the episodes during the last few months and none of them disappoint.

Stumbled across this earlier this week and have been glued to it. Janet Godley, Eddie Marsan, David Baddiel and London Hughes so far and all really interesting and not laden with blatant promotion of their latest project. I highly recommend this

Love the podcasts, just enjoyed Janey Godley but feel the need to share , my mother was a rubbish cook, father was a baker, brother and sister both went to catering college then joined the family restaurant, so as the baby of the family (big gaps) I was always an adventurous eater. Jay is a warm and empathetic interviewer. His guests are rarely the usual suspects and reward our time. I love this show because it’s so “human “. Great guests, great format but does Jay Rayner have to use such offensive language. Is he trying to be cool? Sadly the use of his bad language was cool when you were 15 and hanging out with friends. Just got stuck into this podcast, really enjoyed it and eagerly working my way through all the episodes. They are good humoured, interesting and brighten my day. What a lockdown find! Also rather enjoying hearing about excellent London eateries for takeaway inspiration!

A great format - even in lockdown. From the Kitchen Cabinet, it is already clear that Jay Rayner is great at getting people to talk. But this format gives him more time to explore the lives of the always interesting people that he interviews.
