Endlessly entertaining, I feel like a third guest, silently chewing on a bread roll and trying not to laugh too much in case it might disturb the conversation

Talking over a shared meal is a real way to properly get to know someone. It get unscripted insightful replies that only ever happen at meal times. A joy to listen to and being a foodie hearing about dishes in restaurants I could never afford - but the way it’s presented you feel part of it. A...Read full review »

Every episode presents an entertaining, engaging, and intelligent conversation. Each interview takes the listener along a relaxed and intimate conversation with food as a mutual experience. Surely one of the best podcasts out. If you like good conversation and good food this podcast is a must!

Good grief this is good. I very rarely now save podcast episodes despite so many being very good. This one is exceptional. You may have heard about Richard E Grant’s one man show celebrating his deceased wife’s life together. A pocket full of happiness. The stories of Prince Charles, the...Read full review »

Your farewell session with Richard E Grant was superb. A great way to end. Enjoyed experiencing the fabulous restaurants vicariously. All the best for whatever is keeping you busy.

I do not need this podcast in my feed. The constant begging for five stars is getting really old. If you were that good we would already have given you five stars

… and the bonus would be if the restaurant staff were ‘miked-up’. I understand and love that the interview is the main theme but it’s frustrating for me not to be able to catch what’s said.

Jay Rayner is a truly charismatic interviewer, great sense of humour and so eloquent with making his guests feel at ease for an organic flow of conversation. Wonderful selection of guests, my personal favourite being Miriam Margolyes for the explicit humour, Romesh for his interesting backstory...Read full review »

Stumbled across these podcasts after hearing an advert for them elsewhere. Had heard of Jay Rayner and seen him on the odd bit of tv but never taken much notice so this was a pleasant surprise. My wife (Sara) and I recently decided that 3 months living in Italy was what we needed to shake up and out the Covid torpor. Both still working but also lost in the Tuscan hills. I took a long walk down the mountain each week while Sara had a later evening video meet with one of her therapy...Read full review »

This is just a great show, jay is interesting and he makes sure he has interesting guests on and I ALWAYS want to go where they are eating. I love the sound of the plates being put down, the food explained, all while teasing the guests to open up and talk.

A wide range of guests, and jay in his nonchalant excellence, is always well researched, but naturally. His genuine interest and knowledge in his guests is something that often misses the mark in podcasts. Nothing is forced. Bravo.

Jay invites his guests to lunch, either delivery at their home (covid versions) or my fav is when he takes them to restaurants and they discuss their orders and then the lives of his interviewee. Very interesting conversations. Bravo!
