“I love this podcast because it gives insight on the lives of classical musicians, all the while recognising how interconnected we are: that one can speak about the rhetorical devices in Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” and the rhetorical devices of Revered Al Sharpton at the funeral of George Floyd in the same podcast is extremely grounding during such a disjointed time in history. To connect the classical arts to everyday life and that, in fact, it is not inaccessible in our current society. If you want to learn about historically informed performance practise, HIP, and still get a bit of Beyonce this is what to put in your ears! I use it in my teaching for developing students critical thinking about musical and cultural relevance in our historical art form.”
