Here it is! The Season 4 finale!! Jake isn't ready to throw in the towel just yet, but he decides to take some time and let lose with his friends Ansel and Oliver. Everyone is looking for Roland. FBI agents Torv and Robards head to the train crash site, while Rae contacts Michelle. Roland knows she must do something, but she's struggling to get motivated because of everything she's messed up. She ends up chatting with Mare a bit about struggles and vices, before once again getting a visit from David. FBI agents Mick Robards and Regina Torv have already traveled down to Florida. They are now looking into the disappearance of Phillip Kent, Roland's lost partner. Roland doesn't get far before both David and Mare pay her a visit. Mare offers help, and Roland reluctantly heads back to the inn. Meanwhile, Michelle calls Tiffany to tell her she's okay. And Rae finally decides to tell the Captain about her contact with Roland. A strange visitor arrives at the inn, injured and afraid. Both Mare and Ed seem to recognize her.

Michelle and Hal head north to Spokane to meet with Gary, the P.I. Jake continues his research into the Dwyer case, before getting an urgent call from Rae. And Roland finds herself beaten and completely lost in a small Idaho inn. The train is barreling down on Roland. Can she make it out in time? Meanwhile Hal explains to Michelle what he knows about his nightmares and the people who attacked her. Mare finds Ed doing some research on the missing girl and her friends. They're runaways, which makes Mare believe they aren't dangerous. But Ed is quick to point out that anyone can be dangerous.

Michelle is having a rough time. Her nightmares keep coming. Later at night, when Michelle gets home from a night of drinking her problems away, she finds the house dark and quiet and realizes that her problems are about to get a lot worse. Meanwhile, Jake continues to do some research and meets with Oliver to discuss searching old databases. And Rae gets some bad news about Julia. Jake and Rae discuss the findings in Alaska. Jake also informs Rae that he's been doing some research and can't link the agent names given by Anna Popowski. Later, Jake calls Barbara Braun and asks her about the three hunters found at the scene. Meanwhile, Roland mistakes another van for the one following her and trouble ensues. Ever since Roland came to visit, Michelle can't stop dwelling on her past. The nightmares have come back with a vengeance. Luckily, her friend Tiffany is there to help take her mind off things. In Tampa, Rae has a serious talk with the Captain who fills her in on Roland and Kent's past. Later, Roland continuing her downward spiral, calls Rae and asks that she send more money. After her talk with Roland, Michelle can't help but do more research. Things get darker though as her nightmares continue to get worse and more real. Jake gets a lashing from the EAD, before talking with Rae about another cop who had minor involvement with the Leyden Falls case. On the other side of the country, Roland spots the same van, which leads her to wonder who is following her... Jake flies back to DC, but can't stop thinking about the day he and Roland found the bodies in the clearing. But now news reports are keeping out specific details of the finding which will make connecting the cases a lot harder. Meanwhile, Roland is once again visited by David, who lists off a bunch of names. But what do the names mean..? Mare and Ed awaken to an FBI agent in their office. The agent is looking for a missing girl and her friends. He shows a photo of the friends, but neither Mare nor Ed have seen any of them.

Roland and Jake have been in the Alaskan woods for a while, searching... Jake starts getting frustrated, even though Roland is adamant about finding the bodies. She believes David will help her, but Jake is ready to leave. Meanwhile, both the Captain and Rae talk to some feds who are still on the hunt for Roland.

Before they head north to Alaska, Jake and Rae have a talk about Roland's mental state. Then Jake and Roland hop on a boat and head to Mountain Point, where they meet their guide Barbara Braun. Barbara takes them around the area, even showing them the old ship.

While Jake is willing to go north with Roland, he is plenty skeptical. Not only about finding the bodies, but also Roland's ability to keep focused. He knows about her past, which worries him. But before heading to Alaska, the pair head into Canada to talk to Sefton Trust's ex-wife.
