Not As Evidence Based as He Claims
How would Dr. Dave compare the risk to a safely and properly restrained infant driving in a car to the risk of an apparently healthy newborn "crashing and burning" hours after birth due to an undetected, catastrophic infection or defect? I was very disappointed to hear his not-at-all-evidence-based, skewed and emotional answer to the questions of whether a healthy mother and newborn should be allowed to leave the hospital within hours rather than days. He did not give any consideration of the possible costs and risks of staying in the hospital, and he totally dismissed statistics and rational risk-assessment. This is fear-mongering and offensive to the mothers he called selfish for wanting to go home. I no longer recommend this podcast.Read full review »

I love a Pediatrician that is straightword and likeable at the same time. Dr. Mike always seems to cover something I am worrying about with my child. Whether you have an infant, toddler, or older, Dr. Mike is for you!
