A good topic overview for subspecialists
For those of us in the field of pediatric cardiology, this is a great addition to our ways to learn and stay current. As all things new, it has some pros and cons. Pros: Covers relevant topics. It also covers topics from the full range of pediatric cardiology. You can tell Dr. Pass is listening to feedback consistently. For example, he has improved the audio quality quite notably just over the first 15+ episodes. The interviews are also a nice touch, allowing us to hear others thoughts on each topic. Cons: Quite honestly, I think it speaks volumes that I only have one (admittedlly weird) "con" to point out: The adjectives in this podcast are beyond excessive. Every article is "important," "wonderful," "insightful," "exciting," etc... and for every interview, "we are very lucky to have ____ on our show for them to share their insights." There's no need to convince the listener how important the work being discussed is. Nor is it necessary to thank the interviewee 5 times repetitively. As an aside, you won’t make it through listening to an episode without hearing his text/ringtone go off no less than 3 times. Definitely worth a listen. It's a great way to squeeze in some new journal knowledge in a very subspecialized field that is constantly changing and advancing.Read full review »
