Levitt finally found his home with podcast. Please keep it going for the benefit of humanity. So many inspirational stories from the guests. Mancef Slaoui is my favorite. Ton of more interesting guests. Keeping the other Steve out of this is great idea. Let’s keep it that way.

And all of this discussion is just fine tuning the meaning of words that are constantly evolving. Maybe bias is a type of noise.

Makes me feel like I’m eavesdropping on a couple of REALLY interesting people.

The Robert Sapolsky and Bruce Friedrich interviews are super interesting. Levitt is right that they can change your mind! (I get some of the negative reviews here, but some of the good interviews make it worthwhile.)

Fascinating content, with the high production value you expect from the Freakonomics series. Love it!!

I really like the depth and breadth of your guests mate, great stuff. I also like the way you ask questions genuinely seeking answers that you don’t yet know. Open minds like yours are rare. Good on ya!

It is inexcusable that Levitt gives any time to a notorious patent troll like myrvold. Yuck! I actually started to listen to it and found it to be revolting. The preponderance of white guys is disconcerting.

Always something to learn and experience with people and questions you don’t encounter at other places and you did not know you’d find fascinating. Easy and fun to listen to. I wouldn’t miss an episode!

Great guests but I would like to hear more from them - Steve you talk too much about yourself

Like most people, I know Steve L as the co author of Freakonomics who led me into taking a very different view of the world and got me into a lot of trouble for questioning the received wisdom of my family and friends. I picked up this podcast thinking "yawn, sure, I'll support the...Read full review »

I know Steve is a very nerdy intellectual guy and all, but he does not come across that way on the podcast. He is genuinely curious about the thoughts of his guests, and that eagerness to learn is contagious. I also like his humble and laid-back approach.

The guests are interesting and made more interesting by a host who approaches his interviews with humility and a sincere curiosity. Any new episode makes me smile in anticipation.

I had no idea who Amaryllis Fox was before the interview. It was an episode that made me reconsider the way I look at a number of different issues. Well done!
CougarZeke via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 04/19/21
I am not educated formally and listening to this and other Freakonomics programs give me such a wide range of interesting knowledge and helps me to think about relevant topics from an informed position. Plus they’re just fun. So far I more than mostly admire the guests.

Love the 8-3-1. We do a similar thing with cards. $1 in for a bogey, free card for a par, 2 for a birdie... if there is ever an eagle we’ll figure that out. Poker hand after 9

Most of the guests are truly amazing people. But what has kept me coming back to this podcast is the honesty and humility of the host. His questions also show how extremely smart a human being he is - all expressed in a non-egocentric way.

I appreciate the genuine nature of the conversation. I love have Levitt seems to use the interview to get information for himself more so than make it “podcast worthy”

Most always good episodes, this one was great. Sign me up, what a game changer. I’ll help for nothing, this can be life changing for kids that are less privileged. Steven you work on Chicago and I’ll work for Philadelphia, this can be so powerful for changing lives.

As with most new projects it took a little while to get going but I really think Steve has found his stride now. The Pixar episode was perfectly balanced and the way Steve weaves his personal experience in was completely moving. So glad the freakonomics guys took a punt on this!

Love this podcast - like Freakonomics +. Please consider changing the intro voice person though. She makes you think it’s going to be suuuuuper boring.

Steve Levitt is doing a great job with his interviews. I’m only listening to guests that peak my interest.

I almost didn’t listen to the episode with the magician, figuring there was nothing about magic that would interest me. But I was pleasantly surprised at how engaging the guest was and what an interesting perspective he had on so many things. Well done.

Jesus street magic...lol. I love it! I know they tried to skirt away from it, but I wish they would of dove into more depth. Hope you don’t get to much backlash on it.

Such an inspirational individual and hope for the future. I’m not crazy about the interviewer’s self reflection moments at the start of his interviews and mid way but it is easy to fast forward to get to this incredible worthwhile content.

Mostly due to the high conversation levels that Steven & his guests engage in, I’ve learned how to craft my own arguments, comments & communication. Steven Levitt is such a brilliant interviewer with a seemingly endless reel of studies at the top of his mind to anchor the discussions with evidence-based research and context. His insights have made me better at my job!

I love this podcast more with every episode! It's always intelligent and thought-provoking, and I learn so much - my only complaint is that I find each interviewee so fascinating that I want to spend time researching them, reading their books, etc., but there is just not enough time in the day!Read full review »

Despite snakiness I wish Levitt had asked Slaoui about the Chinese and Russian vaccine options.

In my effort to get deeper into news and to avoid journalists talking to other journalists, I found this podcast. Well thought out questions and in depth questions. Thanks for the podcast. Keep up the great work!

I really enjoy the podcast. When is Steve going to have someone on that he does not admire.? Since the podcast is about people he “mostly” admire.
Henry Burton UCLA via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 12/16/20
Levitt works best when he is a contrarian, going against a commonly held view. But this show is set up so he speaks to people he likes, and presumably mostly agrees with, or at least respects, so it runs the risk of being too cosy. The episode with Moncef Slaoui is a good example, with no...Read full review »
