A individualistic approach to the humans we call philosophers.
I must say as an avid listener of podcasts, on the regular, I can't live without listening to someone speak and raking in the knowledge that I reap from gaining someone else's perspective. Whether the information from all of those OTHER podcasts is correct and are actually insightfully wise, we can only hope, but this podcast takes the cake. Stephen West goes in-depth to relive the lives of philosophers from the very beginning of conscientiousness. Each stage delving more and more into what kind of person each philosopher was and showing US how they thought and what was also WRONG about their approach, even though it progressed us further into depth of thought. Analogies are a teachers best friend and Stephen West is a master of the analogy. He knows how to twist situations from any spawn of life and make it extremely relatable for YOU, the listener. He is certainly teaching us an incredible wealth of anecdotal information from what looks like years and years of constant study. This dive into learning how to think and the splash of information coating your face in the cool waters of enlightenment helps us, as listeners, understand what the body of water called philosophy has to offer and how it actually should be taught and understood. Thank you for a great podcast.Read full review »

I learned a lot listening to this first episode. He delivered a brief history of pre-socratic philosophy in an easy-to-listen-to and funny way. I would highly recommend you check it out.

Like REALLY bad. Guy...Read full review »

This podcast is of excellent quality in both content and delivery. Making philosophy accessible and understandable to the masses is no easy task, but one that is sorely needed in modern society. Thank you for moving us one step closer to the restoration of the philosopher class.
