“I have been listening to Planet Money since the beginning and I’ve heard every single episode ever made. It has been clear for sometime that this show is not as good as it once was but the episode that I just listened to is a new low. The hosts’ preference for dumb gimmicks over good economic reporting has gotten so extreme that it is getting hard to listen to. Not only is Econ battle zone a bad format for teaching economics, but it’s a stupid concept. It’s what you do when you don’t really have any new information or concepts to share in an interesting way. The quality of this show has ebbed and flowed over time so I’m hoping that this show will get good again if I stick with it.”
