The episodes are such high quality drama - the best fiction podcast I’ve heard in a long time. Love listening to it on my commute, doing house work, it makes time fly by. Thank you!

Original cast recordings of important Canadian plays. With theatrical runs being so short and often unavailable to those outside urban areas this is an incredible asset for theatre lovers.

Love this podcast! Can’t wait to listen to the new season and loved getting to hear it on the radio.

Wonderful as always. Except for the reference to chronic fatigue, did you mean chronic fatigue syndrome? (Now known as M.E.?). Or did author really mean the singular symptom of chronic fatigue (many causes). I always correct people who drop the ‘Syndrome’, as the two are different things. I guess...Read full review »

Canada lost its radio plays on CBC. PlayME picked up the slack and took it to a new level. Amazing sound quality, and true theatre people behind it. PlayME is a joy to hear when I catch it on the radio or on demand, and is a big pick-me-up for the theatre community.

Loving Crawlspace but the sound effects are so heavy handed- the slurping and swallowing of tea every few minutes is so gross I almost want to turn it off! Crazy loud. But this podcast is a lifesaver when you can’t read anymore but can’t sleep either. Better than an audiobook too. Can’t wait to...Read full review »

I absolutely loved the podcast but hated how between the sheets was left with a cliffhanger

This is so wonderful. I love radio drama and these plays work perfectly. The writer interviews add so much too. I wouldnt have found this were it not on cbc on sundays.

Play Me is a remarkably effective adaptation of theatre to the podcast medium. In a year when it was not possible to attend the theatre, this was a close second. The author interviews are a particular bonus.

I’ve only listened to “winners and losers” so far, but that play was AMAZING. cant wait to hear more.

WOW! While listening to a Japanese folk tale, I actually felt as if I was in the play. The sound effects were great. Love the Quarantine themed plays.

Loving this podcast. Great to catch up on plays I’ve missed in Toronto and across Canada. And great bonus in-depth interviews. Thanks PlayMe!

This is first-rate audio drama from some heavy-hitting writers: poetic, comic, bleak, sexy, or challenging, these scripts all bring a unique vision of the world as well as attracting talented performers. This podcast provides the most premier access to Canadian theatre than any other platform. The interviews with playwrights always include insights into writing processes and give deeper meaning to themes and character choices. Not for the faint of heart, Huff is a heavy, and psychically challenging piece that is exquisitely executed. I loved it, and it left it’s mark on me….

It blows my mind that such a high quality, skillfully acted, entertaining podcast is so unknown. Not to mention unfairly rated and reviewed. Especially the one where someone with clearly delicate sensibilities rated it one star, due to the darker nature of some of the stories. Im actually annoyed...Read full review »

Excruciating. Depressing. Violent. Dark. There is something terribly wrong in the world of Canadian performing arts if this selection is what they celebrate. There’s no lack of talent, just an egregious lack of taste.

Five stars for creative content! But....while I love the concept and content of this podcast, I find it ridiculously chaotic to follow a sequence. I quite enjoy the play. I have been missing the radio drama that CBC used to air in their regular programming. Bringing the radio drama back! I was heartbroken when the radio studio closed.
