Quality content, well presented
I have listened to Please Explain since the show’s inception. I wrote a brief review some time and thought it worth updating. As I said in my first review, the title ‘Please Explain’ is a nice historical touch and a great title for this program. The shows are concise but sufficient length to properly explain a subject with enough detail to be enlightening and not so long that they become overly-detailed. I view Please Explain as hard news explained in an accessible way for anyone. I pay attention to all kinds of news media and am usually sighing at the slanting of the material towards Get Up, or the IPA and stablemates, the LNP or the ALP, or other parties or innumerable interest groups. I like that I don’t hear any of that slant on Please Explain. I also like hearing their acknowledgement of when, for example, Channel 9 was affected by the cyberattack and Please Explain acknowledged its connection to Ch 9. I like the daily alternation of Tory and Nathaniel. It’s also nice to hear the hosts welcome a first-timer to the show, or mention how someone has appeared previously My two curmudgeon-like observations ... 1) some of the the show’s journalist/guests don’t have the type of voices that I like listening to; they are somewhat gravelly or fried. But those ‘guests’ aren’t the hosts and can’t necessarily be expected to speak with Tory Maguire’s broadcast-quality voice; so I will try not to be too much of a curmudgeon and will cut your journalist-guests some slack. It’s worth adding that I do like the range of speaking style and voice quality to some extent. I like the authenticity; furthermore, nobody on Please Explain sounds affected or self-important like other daily podcasts in Australia and around the world 2) Tory, Nathaniel and many others have either been born with good voices or had good voice training. Tory, you voice is authoritative, and a pleasure to listen to; your voice is one of the reasons why I continually choose Please Explain over your competition; sometimes, though, you sound like you are late for dinner when you say your intro. It feels churlish and audacious of me to say so I will just whisper ‘please slow down your intro’ followed by KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!!

Why it is the case you so frequently defer to personalities employed by Westpac and others of the big 4 for commentary, all of which were so comprehensively exposed by the BRC for egregious longstanding dishonest contempt of their customers?
