“As a hematologist-medical oncologist working in a high volume setting with relatively limited recourses I cannot overstate the impact of the critical views expressed in Plenary Session on the choices I have to make in daily practice. Overwhelmed by the enormous barrage of new drugs and breakthrough medicines and underwhelmed by the mostly poor quality of evidence and limited or absent benefit for patients, it helps to know what experts on quality of evidence and policy think and that they share their critical insights on these issues. This is a podcast that should be followed by all aspiring and young physicians as early as possible in their career order to increase their awareness of the landscape we have to work in and the issues behind the lackluster evidence on which many (if not most) of the currently Pharma pushed ’breakthroughs’ are based.
