“This is more a review of some of the reviews on here than the programme itself. As far as the show is concerned I listen most weeks and find it informative and appreciate they often cover areas which I think other political podcasts don’t. On the other hand I do wish there was a host who was more entrenched in the political world to offer that perspective.
Now to the other part of my review. There are negative reviews of this show which I think are unfounded. Regarding comments on the humour - that’s personal taste and if you don’t think they’re funny or insightful that’s fair enough. But to accuse the show of being massively biased toward labour, which some have claimed, is ludicrous. It’s true the presenters are very left wing and so naturally that is the political sphere they’re likely to comment in. But they actually give labour a pretty hard time and question the labour leadership almost as much as the tories, so if you are being put off by reviews claiming otherwise you can ignore them. Additionally I would like to address one review in particular which addresses the by-elections earlier in the year. Nish and Coco rightly pointed out that the by-elections were much more of a swing to the other main parties and that the Uxbridge win, which is now causing political turmoil in the UK, was won by a razor slim majority by the conservatives. This is a fair assessment and one which the mainstream media chose
to mostly ignore. To point this out and offer a different perspective to what was being parroted from many of the traditional media outlets was the very definition of balanced. To claim otherwise and use it as a reason for not liking the pod is highly disingenuous to me.
So whilst I do agree the pod can be a bit jokey and the analysis comes from a very left leaning perspective I think they miss things others often ignore. Would recommend.”
