highly recommended for EVERY photographer
Don't be misled by the title, even the free version this podcast is definitely NOT just for beginners, it’s highly recommended for EVERY photographer, no matter if professional or beginner. The content is broadly diversified, covers all fields of photography, and goes far beyond questions on exposer triangle, gear, and the like. Among other topics, the interview partners and Raymond himself propose methods to help improve such personal qualities like creativity, confidence, and persistence, which are essential to any photographer, regardless his level. Raymond pries valuable insider tips out of his guests, aside technical aspects and techniques, e.g., how to make your portrait clients feeling comfortable in front of a camera, insights on street photography or landscapes, legal must-haves, etc. Raymond’s personal episodes are the spice of the meal. It’s clearly noticeable that he enjoys hosting this podcast, he has a pleasant voice and spreads out a great contagious enthusiasm. This forced me to struggle against my own uncertainty, or better said laziness, with the result of several spontaneously initiated and successfully completed new projects. Meanwhile the podcast offers an excellent preselection of interesting and well-known personalities, which is important for listeners who don’t have the time and opportunity to stay informed about photography by reading, or rather watching, tons of other different sources. I’ve discovered this podcast about two and a half months ago, started with the very first episode and listened to all of them successively, up to the current one, number 184. Although each episode is basically independent and can easily be understood without listening to the prior ones, the larger context is better recognizable if doing so. Even if it’s just to observe the rise of professionalism over time (of both the podcast and the listener 😉 …). One last note: this is a REAL podcast! The content is hassle-free understandable without watching videos, viewing photos, certain homepages, or whatever. So, it’s no need to pull over while listening. Thanks a lot, I gained a lot from this podcast, although my experience in photography goes back to the mid-1980ies. And now Raymond’s famous final words of each episode: Go out and shoot! best, hs_picturesRead full review »
