continues to be informative and enjoyable
Really detailed and rounded, about the small things and the big things, in fashion, love it. Question -- can you guys explain what is the deal with all the deep cut armholes in sleeveless tops and dresses the past few years? I must take up the sholder seams or take them to the tailors, who say they have this request to alter the armholes a lot. If you don't alter, you have to coordinate your underwear with your clothes, or tolerate more side openess than is practical for most public wearing of clothing. Even wearing smaller sizes doesn't change the proportion. What gives? I hope it isn't the saving some pennies on fabric on each garment, therefore forcing the consumers to make their own time consuming and or expensive adjustments, or buy extra under wear to coordinate. I suspect this is the case, hope I'm wrong, but please enlighten because if it's not, it would be good to know. I read somewhere that high and tight armholes are the sign of bespoke and couture, and move with you in a way that makes tight clothing still able to perform with a lot of movement (Daniel Craig's suits as 007 for example, or other Italian high end fashion). Not asking for bespoke qaulity in a mid range, but this is new-ish, and it didn't used to be this way not so long ago. Looking forward to your take on this. Best, and keep going, I reccommend you to friends and on FB because you are so uniquely good.Read full review »
