One of the most amazing things about the Lord is that He seeks and saves us and then gently deals with us throughout this life. He desires for us to find our joy in Him so much that He is relentless in His sanctifying grace. There were times when I felt like giving up or losing heart...I'm sure you've felt that way as well. Instead, use the gift of confession as the gift it was meant to be. We will never find purifying power hiding in darkness or cherishing our sin. Psalms 66:16-20 16 Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for my soul. 17 I cried to him with my mouth, and high praise was on my tongue. 18 If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. 19 But truly God has listened; he has attended to the voice of my prayer. 20 Blessed be God, because he has not rejected my prayer or removed his steadfast love from me! 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 16 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18 as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
