Excellent supplement to the book
The ‘Practicing the Way’ podcast is already very helpful in both summarizing and expanding upon the key ideas of John Mark’s new book. Pastor Tyler Staton does a great job of identifying areas that need further clarification or nuance, such as, “is all this discipleship talk just works righteousness?” So far the most helpful thing for me personally was discovering that discipleship to Jesus is what Christianity, and that being a Christian and then “doing discipleship” are not different things when you look at Christ’s call, but over time in the history of the church the last few centuries these ideas have become split, and discipleship has become this optional path for the elite Christians. The conversational format between John Mark and Tyler really help bring out the best of each other and from the book. I’m looking forward to following along for all the episodes to come!

I started listening to JMC a few years ago. His way of communicating and the methodology he offers us to deepen our relationship with Jesus is clear, concise, and very helpful. I’m so blessed by his teachings. Thank you for this life changing gift 🙏
