You got it wrong on JP Movemet
I hear what you’re saying that you had a certain experience growing up with Evangelical Christians. But EC do not always equate with the massive Jesus People Movement Revival that covered the 60’s - 80’s & drew more people into Christ and Messianic Judiasm. To understand the JP, you have start with Larry Norman, Randy Stonehill, Daniel Amos. Chuck Smith, Don Finto, Phil Keaggy, Keith Green, Barry McGuire, the 2nd Chaper of Acts, David Wilkerson, Coffee Houses, Billy Graham, Godspell, Jesus Christ Superstar, & the multitude of us out here today who recognized then & now that God’s first (2nd) command was to care for our Father's earth & animals. Politics did not come before God or the people we were sent out to tell & show the love of Jesus too. And I personally know many of those people you are speaking of & they, like me (& you) were very & even exceptionally human but it was that very real humanity that led people to know the love of Christ. And my friend, I don’t care how they vote, it’s no one’s business. But knowing s large majority of them personally, few of them voted for Trump & less than you would think for Reagan. Most I know are outraged at Trump & the few godly people he took down with him. The ones I know are about God & love & placed firmly in the democrat party. Not all & I don’t know all of the parties but the ones I do had NOTHING to do with the things you are accusing us of. Some may have but none I know & I know a large majority of the names mentioned. Im not going to speak for the Evangelicals. Im not one. But neither are the majority of the people I know that came out of the JP movement are either. Some sure but not most. Rich Mullins surely wasn’t nor is Amy & definitely not Larry, God rest his soul. Oh & forgive me, one can’t speak of the JP without speaking of the Rez Band folks or Brown Bannister. Blame us for a lot but not Donald Trump. You couldn’t be more wrong.Read full review »

Really enjoying this podcast. Never was a fan of much of the music showcased, but I’m a fan of this podcast! Well done!

I grew up listening to 70’s pop-rock, and thought I knew most of the popular bands from that era, but this inaugural episode introduced me to several new ones. I enjoyed hearing about the music’s effects on the hosts, who are themselves musicians.
