“I have been listening to Fair Game for a number of months now. The show is really coming into its own but appears to continue to push itself (very important - please don't get self satisfied!). Based on the segments and mix, it sounds like the program is striving to be a contemporary and playful mix of the Daily Show meets SNL meets Terry Gross -- a collective tall order. The interviews are its strongest suit. Faith has a way of getting people to reveal insights and not say what they say everywhere else. The program features politicians of all persuasions and types, surprisingly interesting people not heard elsewhere, as well as people doing great work in pop culture and the arts. They also feature pretty cool independent and unsigned bands and artists..... The Show strives to get people off their talking points. I also particularly like the segments whereby Faith interviews scientists and others. The program has a way of getting people to deconstruct things intelligently and tell us personal insights so that we can all build understanding of important issues or of the person being interviewed. Although I don't find EVERY bit piece funny (and this is sometimes the short segment at the top of the show) or that some of the bands aren't my thing (but thank you for featuring them), as humor and music is a personal taste, I do find that many of the elements of the show are entertaining and I do smile/laugh a number of times each program and will wait through a short bit that isn't touching my funny bone.
