“Finally. Finally. I had been searching for a podcast on Primus or Les Claypool over the past few years and, ironically, COVID spurred on the perfect podcast about Primus.
I started listening a few episodes into the show. I held off on writing a review because, honestly, I feel it is somewhat easy to gush over the first few Primus albums. Those albums blew a hole in the musical universe if your ears and brain are attuned to it.
It was Pork Soda, and the first few episodes into Pork Soda, that spurred me into writing this review. I loved Frizzle Fry and thought it the tops. When PS rolled in, it was good, but it was darker and odder and, for whatever reason, not high on my list. I bought it, saw the tours at this time and enjoyed it, but Josh’s & Frankie’s intricate and fun reviews of the first few tracks re-opened my eyes to this album. For that, I am deeply appreciative.
Josh and Frankie are a good pairing with their individual interests and strengths (all focused on Primus, of course). I love the reviews of the lyrics, I never paid attention too much, and takes on the music. The interviews of the people who were inside the Primus camp back in the day are bonus.
Good job, Gents!”
