A podcast with something new to say about the Beatles
As a Beatles fan who fell in love with the band in 1963 I’ve read, listened, and watched a lot about this band. A lot of it is a re-tread of what’s gone before; a lot more is just inaccurate; and a lot of Beatles podcasts are just a bunch of guys shooting the breeze. ‘Producing The Beatles’ though, really offers something new and intriguing. Imagine a soundtrack to ‘Revolution in The Head’ Ian MacDonald’s indispensable book - which painstakingly describes how and when each track was recorded - and you have some idea what’s on offer here. There’s lots of recordings and track breakdowns I’ve not heard before, the analysis is intelligent, and the sources seem well considered. 56 years on I’m still learning something new about the Beatles - thanks! Really can’t wait to hear more!

Jason’s amazing in depth and very clear explanations of the Beatle’s and George Martin’s recording techniques are so much fun to learn about and imagine. He has done a remarkable job. He is so easy to listen to.

I've listened to numerous Beatle podcasts, this takes things to another level and really breaks down the process of recording The Beatles. Jason gets right to the point and his presentaion is very easy to listen to. Nice job....bring on the next episode!Read full review »

Smart, informative and entertainingly. I found this Beatles podcast after listening to another which, to be kind, was ridiculous. Jason knows his stuff and I love the insight of local musicians. I’ve learned a lot about songs I’ve heard thousands of times, can’t wait for the next one!
