Good premise, questionable results
I love the idea of taking on evangelical cultural touch points and examining the messages we all absorbed in formative years. I’ve listened to a bunch of the Odyssey ones, and… it would have helped if this podcast featured a voice who was actually familiar with the show. You can’t remember Phillip Glossman’s name? You don’t know if the store is called “The Electric Palace” or “Electric Castle”? You can’t name ANYTHING else in the Bible Room? Okay, those things probably don’t hurt the commentary that much, but when it is stated that Eugene became a Christian in order to marry his girlfriend… that’s just false. And it discredits the story FotF actually tried to tell. I’m no “Focus” proponent, but our critiques should be fair and informed. If you don’t know the stuff, you shouldn’t air opinions as if you do.

Only kids who grew up in the Christian subculture will get this show, but for those of us that did, it will be a balm to the soul. Homeschooled evangelical millennials unit!

I grew up listening to Adventures in Odyssey, and I just binge listened to about 10 episodes. I love the fact that the positive and negative aspects of each episode are discussed. Even if you don’t agree with every idea that is discussed, it is super interesting.
