I have enjoyed this podcast, especially the run through 80s Christian culture! Just listening to the episode on Dorothy Day. If it stated several times that the Catholic Church is the church of the poor & working people. I suggest researching more into the Catholic Church organisation as...Read full review »

As a 40-something mom who has gotten so much encouragement from Rhett and Link's spiritual journeys, I've always wanted to hear more of Jessie's story. So I was so excited when I saw that she was a guest. I'm a new listener, former Jesus Freak, and I'm loving this podcast....Read full review »

I stumbled upon your podcast after Kevin Max re-tweeted your plans for this upcoming season. Throughout my deconstruction, I’ve gone down rabbit holes to find out what was REALLY happening in my youth. Back then I had no idea what Liberty University was. I had no concept of how problematic my...Read full review »

I love this podcast. It’s so helpful for untangling the crazy evangelical subculture and the way it impacted me. Love the banter between Krispin and D.L., and love their more individual seasons (hardcore and romance) and conversations with guests as well. I appreciate that this podcast doesn’t...Read full review »

I love the idea of taking on evangelical cultural touch points and examining the messages we all absorbed in formative years. I’ve listened to a bunch of the Odyssey ones, and… it would have helped if this podcast featured a voice who was actually familiar with the show. You can’t remember...Read full review »

Totally worth it if you grew up in the 90’s in American Christianity. I came for the odyssey and Whit-splains, and stayed for the Peretti and Lewis.

Couldn’t say enough good words.

This pair comes off as completely arrogant and uncritical. I hope Christians do not take this podcast seriously. There are so many better articles and podcasts out there on these works.

If you grew up in the Christian subculture of the 80’s and 90’s and are interested in excavating those cultural artifacts that influenced you then this podcast is for you. Quite enjoyable to listen to.

The season on Adventures in Odyssey started out ok but got bogged down in some disorganized banter. It seemed that they also went out of their way to find something negative and not enough credit when there was something positive. However there were enough nuggets of interest that kept me...Read full review »

Only kids who grew up in the Christian subculture will get this show, but for those of us that did, it will be a balm to the soul. Homeschooled evangelical millennials unit!

I’m a new nonbeliever/atheist and I’m obsessed with this show. I grew up locked inside the evangelical subculture and hearing DL and Krispin examine all of the entertainment that was forced on me is truly cathartic.

This podcast is So. Freaking. Important. Seriously...I had already started to question some of the narratives in AIO, but these two have given words to things that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. Thank you for challenging me and being one of the stops on my journey of deconstruction. Keep...Read full review »

I never knew how much I needed the term “Whitsplaining” in my life, or for someone to point out how few episodes actually talk about Jesus. This podcast is fantastic at unpacking the subtle & not-so-subtle narratives in Adventures in Odyssey, with a particular emphasis on the underlying...Read full review »

I grew up listening to Adventures in Odyssey, and I just binge listened to about 10 episodes. I love the fact that the positive and negative aspects of each episode are discussed. Even if you don’t agree with every idea that is discussed, it is super interesting.

I love listening to these guys. I honestly wish I could walk over and hang in with them while they are recording their podcasts. It’s so nice to hear someone else go WHAT?!? At the stuff focus on the family puts out like it’s God ordained truth. DL & Krispin are down to earth, relatable,...Read full review »

I just stumbled on your podcast from a Twitter thread. I am a woman of color who grew up steeped in white evangelical culture. OH! And I’m from the South. My mind is literally being blown by all of the messages that I didn’t even realize were in this show, but shaped (and continue to inform) my...Read full review »

Thanks so much for this podcast! I listened to Adventures in Odyssey as a kid (I remember bingeing them into the night) and recently have thought about what they would be like now. I really like your commentary, it's important to acknowledge where our bits of nostalgia are spot on but its...Read full review »

Great commentary on formative narrative world for a lot of millennial Christians today. Both critical and appreciative.

Krispin grew up listening to Adventures in Odyssey on a regular basis: they formed his faith. Danielle heard a few episodes, but is a bit of a newcomer to these classic evangelical audio stories. In each episode, Danielle and Krispin discuss one AiO story - what's good about it, what's...Read full review »
