Thought provoking
I have enjoyed this podcast, especially the run through 80s Christian culture! Just listening to the episode on Dorothy Day. If it stated several times that the Catholic Church is the church of the poor & working people. I suggest researching more into the Catholic Church organisation as there is a lot about this church that is definitely not showing it as the church of the poor. Start by looking at the chapels around the world and the amount of gold used in the building. Consider the Vatican being one of the richest states in the world. The Catholic Church may support the poor in certain communities experienced by DL, but as a general statement I don’t think this is true. Also countries where the Catholic Church has held a lot of power it has caused a huge amount of abuse and trauma, eg in Ireland. I do find a lot of the US podcasts are stuck on a US world viewpoint, They look at a US scenario and think it applies to the whole world. I think this about many of the religious references in this podcast too are US centred, please consider a wider view. Thanks for being brave with all your topics, I look forward to more episodes!
